A New Administrative Epoch –
Kartavya Bhavan
On 6 August 2025, Prime Minister Narendra
Modi inaugurated Kartavya Bhavan-3,
the first of ten planned Common Central
Secretariat (CCS) buildings along Kartavya Path . This modern facility
brings together key ministries including Home Affairs, External Affairs,
Petroleum & Natural Gas, and Rural Development marking a historic shift
from the colonial-era North and South Blocks after nearly 90 years
The new
Secretariat is designed with green
architecture, including rooftop solar panels and energy-efficient systems,
aiming to slash energy use by approximately 30%
Symbolism Meets Efficiency
PM Modi
described the complex as more than a building "a sacred ground for
realizing the dreams of crores of citizens" highlighting its alignment
with India's ethos of duty (“Kartavya”) and citizen-centric governance He
emphasized that decisions shaping India's future will be crafted here,
underlining the center’s role in fostering transparency and administrative
efficiency

museums or heritage structures will be demolished in the process
Conclusion
Kartavya Path
has transformed from a ceremonial avenue to the administrative backbone of India. Combining historical reverence
with modern infrastructure, it stands as a testament to an evolved governance
model efficient, sustainable, and grounded in civic duty.
